WWPA CHAMPIONSHIP LMU Wins Fifth Title LMU --- 4 - 0 - 1 - 2 --- 7 UC Davis --- 3 - 1 - 2 - 0 --- 6 LMU Scoring: Fair 2, Forai, Benedetti, Hummel, Flood, Heafner UCD Scoring: Arrigo, Wilson, Bennett, Muenter, Eggert, Smith RECAP: A score from Tim Heafner with 1:49 remaining in regulation gave third-seed Loyola Marymount the 7-6 victory over top-seed UC Davis in Sunday’s championship game. The contest was tightly battled, with no team leading by more than one goal. In the back-and-forth affair, LMU led after one period, the score was tied 4-4 at the half and UC Davis took a 6-5 advantage after three periods. However, the Aggies were shut out in the final period to lose their first WWPA contest of the season. Ryan Fair’s two goals led LMU, while six different players scored for UC Davis.
